about me

Hi there!  Thanks for visiting Peterson Stories!

My name is Sara.  I'm a wife, and a mom, and a complete work in progress!  I'm stumbling through this parent thing day by day and praying I don't screw up my kids.  I'm not a huge fan of the baby stage, but also trying not to wish time away.  After all, they are only kids for a short time, right?

Before I became a full time mom, I worked in sales for a wholesale distributor of craft and scrapbooking supplies.  I graduated from Grand Valley State University in 2002 with a Bachelors in Business Administration.

I was lucky enough to find and marry my best friend.  We are working on 8 years, and I say working because it is A TON of work.  This blog was started after Bryce was born (summer 2008) to share pictures and stories with family and friends that I didn't get to see every day.  It was a great way for me to document little things that I didn't want to forget.

My loves:  family, friends, naps, food, my couch and bed, reality TV, beaches, scrapbooking, cardmaking, paper crafting, taking pictures, finding and reading interesting and funny blogs, romantic comedies, lazy Sundays, coffee, laughing, being with those I love.

A little history:

Dan and I met in 1998 as Freshman at Grand Valley State University.  Started dating that winter.
We dated all through college and married in August 2003
After five years of wedded bliss {insert sarcasm}, we decided to become parents.
Bryce James Peterson, Born May 11, 2008 (mother's day!)
After a little too much wine and lack of proper birth control, we "decided" to become parents for the second time ;)
We welcomed Sydney Claire Peterson into the world on October 10, 2009
...and now we are four.  In my opinion, we are just right.  One boy, one girl.  Man on Man defense.
We are doing our best with what we've got.  Some days are little too overwhelming to handle, but I try to look around and remind myself how truly blessed I am.  God is good.  My children are healthy and wonderful.  My husband and I work very hard to remain best friends.  Our life is by no means perfect, but we are trying our best!

Thanks for visiting!

Hello Sara, I came across your blog by complete accident (hit the 'next' button when visiting a friend's blog). My name is Neil and I am a dad of four amazing grown kids (well I know they are amazing anyway :-). I was interested in what you said about parenting and 'praying each day that you don't screw you kids up'. That is a great attitude, never stop praying for them! I want to encourage you with what you already know - you are on the most exciting, challenging, rewarding and awe-inspiring journey you and your hubby can be on. Don't ever take on board sayings like 'the terrible 2's' rather, look forward to celebrating new milestones, eaach year, learning fresh things as you watch them develop and always make your talk line up with the best you can imagine for your kids. Don't be too hard on yourselves as parents, all of us started in the same place, and all us parents on a this amazing journey. Tomorrow is another day and saying sorry for what happened today, if it goes pear-shaped, allows you to start the next day fresh again. Be always thankful that you have a hubby who shares the same dreams you have for being the best parents you can be. It was so lovely coming across your blog and seeing how much parenting is influencing you both as people. You love for your fam is oozing off the pages :-) I trust that you both continue to grow in love with your kids and that together you keep finding ways to be thankful for having a precious family. All the best. Neil

Hi Sara, I'm very happy to be here, yours is a very nice blog indeed!
I'm here for the first time and by chance, I like to see who is my next-door in the web: I'm lucky I have found you a special one :)!
I'm an Italian, not young but not too old, wife, mother of two boys and a girl, granny of a little girl of 17 months.
I've been fascinated by your four fantastic kids and by your story.
I have got a blog "REVERIES", is in Italian but with the help of the translator it's easy to understand. If you like and visit me, I'll be very happy.
Thanking you for your kindness.
Love
Yours
