Project Life Update:: Weeks 17, 18 and 19

I've been going back and forth between the Kraft and Honey Kits.  I am loving all the bright, fun colors and patterns.

Week 17
Left Side (clearly I didn't do a good job with my clipping masks...you can see the template behind all my photos.  oops.  Good thing they are all printed out and slipped into my album pockets.
Right Side:  Waaaay too many Kenny pics, so I included an 8x10 insert as well.
Front side
Back Side

Week 18:  I used both Kraft and Honey...Stuck with the green/pink color combo.
Left Side
Right Side: Fun weekend with friends and family date day.

Week 19:
 Left Side:
Right Side: This week was mostly about Bryce and his b-day.  Lots of pictures so I made a collage, as well as a cute video slideshow on the journaling card.

I am still loving this project, and how much easier it is for me to include the things I want using the digital elements.  It's not for everyone, but it is totally working for me!

Project Life Update: Week 21

Week 21.  Here we go:
Full layout with 2 inserts.
Left Side:  Wrapping up the school year, teacher gifts, new big girl seat, and packing/getting ready for vacation!  Nothing too fancy...pictures and label stickers.
Title card:  I'm looking forward to working on this project one week at a time again.  I'm running out of ideas for title cards and since I was trying to catch up on 3 weeks at once, it's pretty simple.
Right side with 2 inserts.  I saved a few ticket stubs/room key/boarding pass from the trip and just sewed some pockets to keep everything in place.
back side of the pockets.  And yes, I unknowingly glue the tickets together upside down.  whatever.
I enlarged and cropped a pic of Dan and I to 6x12 and added a few embellishments.
Backside of the 6x12 is just a collage of pics from the concert.  WHICH WAS AMAZING!!!!  Look how close I was able to get to the stage.  Sadly our seats were not there, but I had no shame and walked right in front of everyone so I could get a picture of my man.  (note the incredibly creepy self shot with Kenny in the back.)
Lets's listen to a quick song, shall we?

Old Blue Chair...one of my all time favorites.  (and yes, my husband was nice enough to serenade us all because he wasn't aware I was taking a video.  Thanks babe)
Since it was raining almost every second of this vacation, I didn't bring my camera out of the hotel.  Not once.  Almost all of my pics were with my phone, so I used Design F to mount my square photos on 3x4 cards.  Sadly, we didn't get to do much.  Lots of drinking, a little casino, and of course...Kenny.
I did have a couple larger photos that I wanted to include, so the 4x6 pocket flips down.
Used a bi-fold journal card with a piece from my smash pad on the front.
I wish I had more exciting news to report from the vacation...you know, Like Kenny spotted me in the audience and asked me to leave my husband to run away with him on his luxury yacht.  So...I just journaled about the rain.

Why I don't "blog" anymore

It's been a while...

I can't seem to find the time to shower most days, let alone sit down at the computer and actually upload photos and write about them.  Any free time I have (which isn't really free...because I'm most likely neglecting something or someone else), I'm usually trying to catch up on my Project Life album, or a project I've promised someone.  (I've recently finished two sets of wedding invitations/reception cards/rsvp/programs for friends)  Add a needy 2.5 year old to the mix, in addition to a very rambunctious 4 year old who no longer naps, and every second of the day is spoken for.  Not a pitty party for Sara...just a little rant.  Anyone else seem to have this problem?   So...Anywho... things have been busy.

Oh...and I joined a gym.  More on that later.

Not to mention the darn chore chart that I decided to tackle. ????????????  This may have been a little aggresive.
I'm constantly overwhelmed with the idea of housework (mostly with the amount of it), so when I saw this on Pinterest, I thought I would give it a shot.  I spent nearly every day cleaning last week.  I managed to whip this place into shape, but I think this will be short lived. :)

After my most recent emotional meltdown, Dan and I decided to go ahead and join a local gym. (And when I say "we" I mean the kids and I...and when I say "Dan and I decided", I mean I freaked him out enough that he strongly encouraged I do SOMETHING to get away from my kids)
The big selling point for me, besides the outdoor pool, was the amazing children's programs they offer.  The kids are enrolled in a 6 week gymnastics program and love it!  It hasn't even been three weeks and I already feel so much better.  The break from them is so refreshing.  An added bonus is the exercise. I've tried Zumba, Yoga, Pilates, a step class, and a crazy intense barbell weight class so far.   So fun!  I'm not gonna lie though...one day last week I did just plug my headphones in to watch Live with Kelly while I pretended to ride the bike.  It was pure bliss.  AND I GET TO TAKE A SHOWER...ALONE!  Worth every penny I tell ya.

So cleaning, exercising, what else...? Oh!   I managed to sneak a little craft real quick.
Put together this cute little potted flower plant for one of the grandma's mother's day gifts.  Oh how I love Pinterest!

I think Dan is just about finished with his Dock Season (seasonal business he runs to install and remove boat hoists, shore stations, and dock).  This spring weather has been very cooperative and they are actually finished before Memorial day.  Woo-Hoo!  We get him back on the weekends again.

We had a Mother's Day Tea Party at Pre-school on Thursday,

Bryce turned four last Friday, we drove over to Detroit to celebrate Andrea's 50th on Saturday,

then we had Dan's family over for B's birthday and celebrated Mother's day on Sunday.

We're exhausted!

Thank goodness I leave a week from Wednesday for the Bahamas to visit my boyfriend Kenny!

Project Life Update: Week Thirteen

Week 13 already?  How in the world is it April?  We have been so fortunate with the nice weather lately, but I'm kind of over the kids thinking we need to be outside every waking moment of the day.  I don't know how I am going to make it through the summer.  (yes I do...stock up on boxed wine.)
Moving right along...Here is week 13.  Kept it pretty simple this week.  No inserts, but if I can get around to it, I would like to do another collage of my instagram photo-a-day shots, maybe on a 6x12??
Left Side:  Lots of exciting things going on.  Well, let's see...Booked a trip to the Bahamas to see my boyfriend Kenny perform at the Atlantis.  Woo-Hoo!!!!!  Oberon is on the shelves...I don't do beer, but that must mean summer is close.  Spent $90 filling up my tank, only I stopped because I spent $90 and it still DID NOT FILL UP MY TANK!!!  Painted a fun chalkboard in Bryce's room...and finally ran 1.97 miles...brutal. Gotta work my old bones back up to 8 miles...maybe more?

Picked up some new washi tape from Target in reds, blues, and greens. (it's in the office supplies section.)  Comes with 4 rolls for only around $4-5!  Yay!
Right Side: Finished book 3 and finally went to see Hunger Games.  Amazing.  Neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt, and fire and smores on Sunday.
Added some text to the top photo in PSE, cropped a pic of the kids to 3x4 and added a label sticker with their initial.  Bottom photo is just 4x6 with a collage of a few different photos.
I printed the photos, but wasn't sure how I wanted to lay this out.  Ended up filling the 3x4 pockets, so I just attached a blank journal card to the s'mores photo.  Used one of Ali Edwards overlays.  Instagram photo cropped and printed at 2.5 x 2.5.  Stickers and Target Washi Tape.

Best Day EVER!

To say that I was excited about going to the Kenny Chesney concert would be an understatement.  There are no words to describe the pure elation that I was feeling.  Could it have been the beautiful and unexpected weather?  Maybe.  Could it have been the fact that my AMAZING sister in law took my kids overnight?  Perhaps.  Could it have been the massive amounts of margarita I consumed on the deck during our pre-party?  Very likely.  Could it have been that I was surrounded by tons of my favorite family and friends?  Absolutely.  Whatever the reason, the day was perfect.
Our good friends Paul and Heather came over before the concert.  We joked about how we've been friends for almost 8 years and we have no pictures together???  This disappointing fact prompted our faux prom mini photo shoot.
We finally made it downtown and grabbed our drinks seats at the concert.  Not the greatest seats, but no fear...it gets better as the night goes on.

The opening acts:
AND FINALLY...
My sole reason for existence...you know, after my husband and children.
The rest of the family had seats a few sections away, and realized there was a huge area of seats unoccupied and were given the "ok" to move down and sit there.  We quickly moved and had the most amazing view!!!

Kenny was even nice enough to pose for a quick picture with me!
Heather and I kept saying "he's RIGHT there".  You would think this was my first Kenny Concert!!  (I think I'm on number 4 or 5??)  Never gets old.
Yes, we are a tad sweaty.  We were rocking it out.
My sisters and cousins. :)
Can you watch this video and not get excited???
This was seriously the most fun I've had in a long time.  So happy everyone was able to make it to Grand Rapids to hang with us and celebrate Bryce's birthday on Sunday.  (pictures to come.)
