Random thoughts

{photo by: Bryce}

-Happy that it is Friday, Sad that both kids have nasty colds.

-Looking forward to Easter...hearing a great message, spending time with family, and eating lots of yummy food.

-Exhausted by temper tantrums, food strikes, meltdowns, selective hearing, whining, nap strikes, the word "no", dirty diapers, fighting, and children's shows.

-Wishing I could simplify certain things in my life, but discouraged by the amount of work it would take.

-Sore from Jillian yesterday, but happy that I actually did it.

-Wanting another cup of coffee, but too lazy to make it.

-Feeling bad about being so nasty to my kids the last few days and praying for lots and lots of patience.

-Feeling a little ba-humbug about not getting the kids Easter Baskets, but not sure I want them to get caught up in the hype of bunny/chick version of Easter.  (yes, I know I'm being a little dramatic since they are 3 and 18 months)  We'll see...I may cave.

-Am soooooooooo ready for the REAL spring to get here, not this FAKE tease spring where it's 85 one day, then snowing the next.

-ready to buy these that I saw blogged about here this morning.  (LOVE her PL ideas!)

A little bit Awkward, a little bit awesome.

Awkward:

Standing in line at the Pharmacy and having your kid shout "Hey Mama, look!  Santa"  referring to the Pharmacist.  (I mean, medication can sometimes be a gift, but....he's not quite Santa)

Getting asked by two different people at the in-law's Christmas gathering if I was pregnant.  WHEN I'M NOT!

Changing one kid with bad diaper rash, then having the other one who does not have diaper rash repeatedly ask if he can have some "butt cweam" too.

Having to photoshop your son's face on the Christmas card so at least one of your kids has a damn smile.

Awesome:

Playing out in the snow with the kids when the sun is shining

Christmas food (i.e. cheesy potatoes, cookies, more cookies, candy, pie, etc...)

Enjoying that Bryce understands Christmas a little better this year and watching movies with him like The Polar Express

Ugly Christmas Sweater parties.

The glow of the Christmas lights and fire place in the evenings when the kids have gone to bed and the house is quiet.

a little bit awkward, a little bit awesome

This post was inspired by the super cool and ridiculously adorable Sydney over at The Daybook.  {and she has a great name if I do say so myself}

Awkward:
This self timer shot.  WTF?

realizing there is nothing left to discuss with your husband of 7 years after you fill him in on cute stuff the kids did today and so-and-so's facebook status update.

hearing the Schwan guy call your son, ---RICE---{when his name is actually Bryce} every time he comes and not being able to correct him since he's been doing it for over a year now.

Speaking of wrong names, when the boss' wife calls your husband  Scott Peterson {when his name is actually Dan Peterson}, every time she sees him.  You know, as in SCOTT PETERSON the wife killer.  ummm...weird?

when someone misunderstands your sarcasm for bitchiness in a text.

talking too much when you are around new people.  {I tend to say things that are inappropriate, cause that's how I roll.}

belting out the wrong words to a song when you -totally- thought you knew the right words and having someone catch you.

Awesome:

When Sydney wakes up in a good mood.  {Hell, anytime Sydney is in a good mood since this is very seldom.}

Wearing your jeans the second day because they fit like a glove.

Coffeemate Pumpkin Spice creamer.  In LOVE right now.

Playing with my new camera!!

Having Bryce come up to me out of the blue, grabbing my face with both chubby hands and planting a big kiss right on the lips.

Nachos from Qdoba

Wednesday night tv.  Modern Family and the Middle are AMAZING {aaaahhhhhmaaaaziiiing...said in a whisper under my breath}

having a great hair day.  Aint nothin gonna break my stride.  No body's gonna slow me down, OH NO!  I've got to keep on moving.  {Sorry that song popped in my head because I was imagining myself walking down the street with great hair and that is the song that would be playing.}

going to bed at 8:30pm and sleeping straight through the night.  AMEN!!

Little Letters

dear summer,
i'm so glad you are here.  i've missed you.

dear target,
could you please stop being so irresistable with your cute things and great deals.  i'm approaching a dangerous balance this month and I partly blame you.

dear lady at meijer who told her daughter that "she could not have Dora yogurt because it is not healthy" as I was picking up Dora yogurt at putting in my cart for my kid,
bite me

dear boobs,
you can go to hell.  you know what you've done.

dear scrapbook room,
i'm sorry i've abandoned you lately.  let's try to catch up soon?

dear diet coke,
have you done something different with yourself lately?  i seem to find you somewhat irristable right now.

dear june 30,
please feel free to get here any time.  i'm ready to see the new twilight movie.

Thoughts going through my head...

9 days left!
Cannot believe it.
Everything hurts.
Why is everything so annoying right now?
Why is everyONE so annoying right now?
Wish I wouldn't have seen the article about 19 lb baby!
What if I have a 19 lb baby?
Scared to death to give birth.
Wondering when it will actually happen.
Looking forward to the epidural.
Freaking out about 2 kids.
Hoping Bryce adjusts well.
Nervous I might poo this time? seriously!
Curious if it's a boy or girl.
Wanting the Nursery done (even though it won't be used for a while)
Wishing Dan had a uterus.
Feel like some "landscaping" is necessary, but can't see there, and don't want to.
Thinking some of these thoughts should be staying in my head and not on my blog...
Wishing someone would come clean my floors.
Cannot believe I'm having another baby.
9 days left!!

Right now...

1. I am struggling with anything to blog about. I have been in a funk lately. Not sure if it is pregnancy related, or just laziness, but I have been t.i.r.e.d ? Not taking many pictures even though Bryce has been learning and doing incredible amounts of new things lately. :(

2. I am allowing Bryce to play with the stereo receiver (which Dan always scolds him and makes him stop doing when he is home...oops) and he turned off the tv, turned the radio on, quite loudly, then walked away. I'm listening to the radio at like, Mach 10 right now. Oh well.

3. I have a big cup of coffee next to me that smells so good, but I'm debating drinking because I'm battling a bit of heartburn this morning. What's up with that by the way?

4. Annoyed that I'm whining about everything, like how I have a killer headache and just want to go back to bed. I think I woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. Oh wait, that's right, I woke up on the wrong side of the couch because that is where I slept as a result of my husband's obnoxious snoring ::AGAIN:: and my stupid heartburn last night. I'm the pregnant one, he's totally getting up next time, not me.

5. Aaawww, so happy that my little bugger just stopped playing to crawl over and give me a hug and kiss. That boy is so sweet. (right now at least)

6. Just remembered the Schwan man is coming today (yay, more french toast sticks!) It's the little things that keep me going! I know I'm pathetic.

7. Just read this list and can't believe I'm actually posting it. What is going on with me?
