Father's Day Mini album...for our Rad Dad

Last year for Father's Day, I threw together this cute little book for $2...No joke!
I downloaded the files from the rockstar chicks at Eighteen25, and printed at home for free. The photo album was $1.99 at Target.  I asked the kids several questions to fill out the question sheets (hilarious), and inserted them in the album.  It was so easy, and Dan LOVED it!

If you've followed this blog for about five minutes, you know I love me some Project Life, so I was so excited when I saw the Rad Dad kit available a AC Digitals!  ( It's still on sale by the way...$5.59)
I scoured my photo files from the last 12 months and found all my "Dad" pictures, and had them printed up along with the digital elements from the kit.  Sadly, there were no Project Life Mini albums at Hobby Lobby when I was there, so I made do with what I could find.  Here is what I came up with:
Just noticed the tag is hanging out.  Nice...
Let's hope he loves it!  If not, he should be thrilled with the Keurig coffee maker I'm giving him after he opens this :)

We're back

This past weekend, Dan and I were fortunate enough to make a quick getaway to Savannah Georgia.  We spent 3 1/2 days doing anything we wanted (which was actually a whole lot of nothing).  We arrived with grand plans, but mostly we just enjoyed lots of food, lots of alcohol, lots of relaxing, lots of laughing, lots of walking, lots of fun.

To my surprise, I actually missed the kiddos.  A LOT.  It was so nice to get away, but also nice to be home.  All relaxed and recharged.  Hopefully with a bit more patience than usual.  :)

Monkey see, monkey do

We had a busy weekend around here (by "we" I mean Dan).  We hadn't cleared the driveway in a while, so he took Bryce outside to snow blow with him.  Bryce LOVES helping out in the yard, and since the bubble mower is in "hybernation" for the winter, he found the next best thing...a shopping cart.  He pretends this is his snowblower.
The cold didn't bother him one bit.  He kept walking up and down the driveway with Dan pushing that little snowblower of his.
It was so cute to watch them out there.
Then while Bryce was napping, Dan next project was cleaning the carpets.  Of course Sydney had to help out too!
She thought she was pretty cool with her little purple vacuum.
Glad these two are finally pitching in around here! :)

Wild and Crazy 30th Birthday!

That's right.  Wild and Crazy is the only way to describe this trip to Chicago.  {if  "wild" means sleeping by 9pm and the highlight of the trip being an architecture boat tour around the city, then yes...we certainly let loose!}  Don't get me wrong, words cannot describe how amazing it was to be alone with my husband for 3 whole days and no whining, needy children to take care of.  I couldn't think of a better way to spend my 30th birthday.  I am so thankful for my husband planning this trip.

I will let the pictures tell the story :)

So, I am officially 30.  This was a great way to make the transition.  I have to say...so far, it's not so bad.

Let's start this day over

You know it's not going to be a good day when you wake up to your husband yelling "shit, shit, shit.....shitshitshitshit...shit!"  from the bathroom.

Toilet overflowed and he didn't realize it...water all over the floor...he's running late...I leave to grab some junk towels and discover the water has traveled and is now pouring down from the lights in the kitchen.  Awesome.  Nasty toilet water is all over my bathroom and now my kitchen floor.    I would like to start this day over.

It's so hard for me to believe that this was SEVEN years ago?  Where does the time go?

Saturday we celebrated our anniversary by heading to Holland for dinner.  We went to an amazing restaurant called Boatworks on Lake Macatawa.  The weather was perfect and we were able to get a table on the patio by the water.
You know I have a toddler when I go out to a nice restaurant and order Mac & Cheese for dinner.  It was AH-mazing!
Of course we had to enjoy a bottle of wine, with my classy dinner :)

Quick picture by the lake.

stopped for another drink in town
Walked around downtown for a bit...had to satisfy the sweet tooth :)
Yup...I think this should do it!

It was a very nice night, and a great way to celebrate seven years.  (of course any night away from my children is fantastic.  I'm easy to please!)
